The Yale Precision Marching Band plays several songs at most or all of the athletic contests that include music.
Musicians who would like to join the YPMB must play our two fight songs, “Down the Field” and “Entrance Medley”.
The audition parts for these pieces (plus our arrangement of the national anthem, “The Star-Spangled Banner”) are available for download below.
- Listen to the recording of each piece.
- If instruments have more than one part, select a part that fits your range and technical skills.
- Please record yourself playing both pieces and email a YouTube video link to Stephanie Hubbard with the subject line: “My YouTube Recording-YPMB fight songs”.
- The Director of Bands will review your recording as soon as possible after your submission. You will be invited to join the YPMB, or deferred pending more preparation.
- Students (including newly admitted students!) may submit an audition recording at any time during the year. Newly admitted students could be admitted to the Yale Precision Marching Band by audition, even before arriving at Yale!
